Explore the Rich Legacy of the Sarasota School of Architecture

This is a two for one event!! You won't want to miss this MEMBERS ONLY special event!

Fresh off his widely popular introduction to the Sarasota School of Architecture at the Cornell Club’s March 2024 luncheon, Marty Hylton, Architecture Sarasota’s President, will offer us a tour of two mid-century Modern masterpieces.

We will begin our day at the McCulloch Pavilion, a beautifully restored example of mid-century Modern commercial architecture. Marty will share the interesting history of the building and its restoration, then guide us through the “Moderns that Matter, Sarasota 100” exhibition.

We will then drive to Lido Shores to tour the magnificent Umbrella House designed by Paul Rudolph. The Umbrella House has been described by Architectural Digest as “one of the five most remarkable houses of the mid-twentieth century.”

CCSM Members will get an email invite when registrations open on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024. There are only 30 spots available.
Registrations close and are non refundable after Friday, Jan 10th.

Join us afterwards for an optional self-funded lunch at St. Armand’s Circle, TBD.
