Explore the Rich Legacy of the Sarasota Celery Fields: Birds, Butterflies and Blossoms

The Celery Fields were created in the 1920's by the Palmer Group and now serve as an active and vital natural resource and water management center for our county. Over 246 species of birds have been observed there!  It's time to explore!

Join us for a guided tour of the fields, Audubon Nature Center, and the birding boardwalk.  We will meet and speak with Sarasota Audubon experts to learn more about the numerous varieties of birds and wildlife that make this magnificent marshland their home.  It is a major breeding ground and winter home for many species.

Join us afterwards for an optional self-funded lunch in the original Chickee Hut at Stottlemyer's Smokehouse circa 1955.

CCSM Members will get an email invite when registrations open on Friday, March 28th.

There are only 30 spots available for members + their guests.

This free event will probably book up fast. Save your spot ASAP. Please join the waitlist, and if you know you can't make it, please cancel your registration so others may attend.

Registrations (if available) close on Wednesday, April 23rd.
